Need opinions on next mod...

Guys,

I found out I might be lucky enough to come across a little money soon. If you were in my shoes what would you do? I am looking into either a Stage II CP3, Snow Stage II or a TST PM3 CR R49?

I also had the very awesome pleasure of meeting a sleeper member today. I forgot her name but she is driving a Silver 3rd Gen with Stacks. Talked to her for about 20 minutes today and think she and her hubby are going to come to CPD this friday. She knows John P and a few of the other guys....and you should have seen her face when we discussed the B.S.M. guys....LOL

STUDS- They should be the first thing you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything you and the other members have talked about (that go on the engine) will lift your head and cause your headgasket to fail. Spend your money on studs first.

Why cant you drag your stick? Afraid of ripping her up again? I can definately appreciate that...

Nate:

I agree 100% with what Cris has told you on the headstuds! And according to Tim Barber another thing that is very important on these CR trucks is a set of aftermarket valve springs. But after those, I would recommend the TST with the R-49. I sure like mine alot and you drove it and saw how it runs.

Replacing it again won't be that bad since I know how its done now. Getting beaten to death by my wife for breaking the truck again is my main concern.

It just seems I've got more power than tranny right now and I have a full nitrous kit and an extra CP3 in the storage building waiting to go. But what's the point if the tranny can't handle it. I've even thought about swapping in an NV4500.

Yea, that is a good point and it seems there is always a breaking point. I am going to drop in studs and possibly a PM3...I do like the idea of a water setup also. But for now I have a goal to get this thing to a 12.xx and that is not so far off. But Cris is on the money with studs...they are next. I played with the idea of adding some juice to the truck, but in my experience it just breaks stuff!!!!!
