Just wanted to say "THANKS!"

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped put together the event this past weekend. It was a ton of fun, and I met some really cool new people and got to put even more faces to forum usernames. Its funny, sometimes you see attitudes and such flare up on this forum. Its real easy to do that when all that stands between you is a keyboard and a mouse. But when everyone gets together at an event like this and sets their differences aside, it ends up being a ton of fun and everyone has a great time.

I wish I could have been there to watch the drags, sounds like it was quite the race day!

Anyway, thanks again to those who helped put this together and those that showed up to help support DTR. I can't wait for the next event.

^^ See mike is always overwhelmed....he forgot the "et" in his post

I agree. The planning, organization and execution of this event was right on. Even though I had a few issues I still had a great time. Friends, food, truck...what else? We.....we even had women (Hooters). I still cannot get over the 4'6" girl we got Banshee to pose with....what a couple huh? BTW, WHO has that picture?

John_P,

I wanted to say thanks to you for taking the time to help transport the BRB to the hobby shop. Those knuckleheads didn't know what to think of that truck!!! When I ran back by there yesterday there were two old guy that were talking crap about my truck...."It's a Dodge, what do you expect" and "I can't believe you would even think of racing that rig, Fords put out more stock thn that thing.." Mo seemed like a nice fella with his head in the right spot. BTW, thanks for the call last night....took a load off my shoulders.

Mike,

Again, thanks to you and John_P for doing this. Next year I would love to offer anything I can to assist in the planning, acquisition, organization or execution of these events.

For those of you that didn't attend, you missed out. If nothing else watching the smile on Auggie's face...

Nate, You're welcome! Next year you'll be more than welcome to join in on the fun of event planning, it's a blast. Sorry for the bad luck at the track, but at least it wasn't anything serious.

Nate, good luck with the hobby shop. I had my drag car there twice (didn't learn the first time) and never went back. Mo is a racer and he is good to go, but for the most part, the rest are lacking in the mechanic skills. Ofcourse they wouldn't agree, but I had to put them in there place more than once when I heard them spilling some advice (wrong info) to young Marines working on their cars.

When they finally realized I did my own Motors and transmissions on the drag car, they let up some, but still wasn't worth the hassel for me any more at that point.

let me know if I can help. I have some connections at the ammaco trans shop and Dennis there is a Mopar guy and knows his stuff.

Nate:

You are very welcome on the "truck transport!" Believe me, you are not the first Member here to have been on my flatbed. Heck, my old 2002 was on it a couple of times! If you do this stuff long enough there is always a chance it can happen. Nate, as far as those guys at the Base Hobby Shop, all I can say is,....."Tell them to bring their Fords out to CPD!!" They sound like our old buddy, Cliff ("1300 H.P.") Hutton! That Mo guy was real nice to us though.
