Virginia, How about another Appliance Shoot?

How would you guys close to Va Chapter 7 like to have another appliance shoot coupled with some ATV/Dirt bikn'? I just happen to have a ten acre field waiting. i'm thinking weekend camping, Saturday night bonfire, etc. It will be roughn' it. No toilets, no electric, I will run a garden hose out past the fence for water. Seriously, it's in the boonies. It is available late April or early May, hopefully before the horse flies get thick.

We will try to put a hole thru just about anything that isn't a liquid or environmental mess (NO, paint, oil, critters, etc.) And no, you cannot bring your "EX" as a target, but you can bring a picture. Of course all Va. and Federal firearm laws apply.

Let's try to do this the last weekend in April. The location is 443 Calvary Road, Elberon VA. Do a MapQuest and that will get you to the road, which is a private lane that is not much more than a tractor path. I will put up signs starting at the entrance, It is wide enough that it won,t get your paint, but don,t wash your truck . Camping is an option. The shoot will be Saturday after lunch. Where I am putting the targets are shadowed until about 11am.

You betcha! Thanks to the video that was taken the last time we shot I figured out why it sometimes shot a little wild. I need to tame the recoil a little straighter .

Ed, you should be in advertising.

In case any of you are wondering. The homemade cannon is a full one inch smooth bore. It uses up to a 1000 grain of 3F Black powder or equal volume of Pyrodex RS, and a 1460 grain patched lead ball. The bore is 20 inches deep. for you ballistic nuts, that is between 1500 and 2000 fps. for a maximum of 13,500 lbs/ft of "calculated energy". Cycling rate of fire is about three minutes per round.

Glad to see you can make it. Be prepared, I will probably make a nuisance of myself asking a lot of dumb questions.

By the way. My son, who lives there at the farm, is down to one dog so pets are invited as well. But be warned. There is no fence and lots of small game to sniff out. Not to mention the ocasional coyote.
