DATES For PULLING

There are going to be a bunch of pulls in Stephenville and the surrounding area this year...
April 21-22 Stephenville (Yea.. that's this weekend..)
May 19-20 LeRoy
May 26-27 Hillsoboro
June 16-17 Stephenville
June 23-24 Dublin
July 4 Stephenville
July 7-8 Glen Rose
Sept 8-9 Gordon
Oct 13-14 Cisco
Nov 3-4 Stephenville

These are the dates of the Antique pulls.. but they will pull trucks if you show..

I'll check for more dates and check to see which club is putting on these pulls.. there are more.. (when I get home tonight..)

Someone needs to get with the sled owner.. Gary.. and lay down a few ground rules... He'll pull what every you can get to the sled, as long as its safe... but some rules need to be set: Hitch Height, weight classes, would be a start... sigle/twins.. would start getting a little more technical..

In the past the pulls at Stephenville have had about 15 diesel trucks..

I'll be there this weekend... but Only pulling the tractor...

Sometimes they'll mix in a group of trucks during the day, just to keep things going.. but usually pull the entire truck class at the end of the day...

Scott, the thing to do would be to have the truck pull on Friday night.. and let the Antiques pull on Saturday...

I talked to Mark (girlfriends dad /Garys partner) and he said that on Fri starting @ about 4-5 hes only gonna charge 8 bucks/ hook. Its really only a practice pull, the real pull is on Sat. but its a good opprotunity to get the feel for the sled.
Bryan, are you from Stephenville? It would be no problem for me to talk to Gary and Mark and set all that stuff up. They are pretty excited about getting an all truck pull and maybe even a truck series together. They would like to have enough trucks to be able to split up into classes but since nobody really knows about them, there hasnt been a lot of trucks at their pulls in the past.
I hope every body gets to come. Ill be around but beings that Im sportin the Ol' 2X I wont be hooking

I'm from just outside Waco.. but I've been Antique pulling with those guys for a few years... I'm not going to be pulling the truck either.. but I have had some people interested.. and some that plan on pulling in DeLeon in August..

You got to watch Mark.. lol.. J/K Have you seen some of his conversions?? 1st gen engine in 4dr Chevy... but tried to tell me it was making over 400hp.. with stock VE and stock turbo. They are good people...
I just think a few rules need to be set.. and then things will start happening.. Chris Strickland from Willis has had a bunch interested in pulling.. but with no rules.. they are going to travel to pull..

Dont know if I'll make it on Friday... I broke a 3/4 stud off between the block and crankcase.. (2 cylinder Deere) and had to pull the block out last night.. but I'll be there Saturday with a tractor for sure.. (Unless the wife goes into labor.. haha.)

cummnz4x4pwr I want to check out your P-pump conversion... I wish you had a big charger... usually not too much for smoke there... hopefully some of the guys around Austin, SA will make the trip up...

Yeah theyre a bunch of good ol' boys . Ive been around for almost all of Marks conversions and helped on a lot of them too. His old truck is hotter than you might think and its got over 600,000 miles on it . I dont think setting up some rules would be too much of a problem, especially if it would get some more trucks comming. Let me know what everybody has in mind and Ill pass it on.
Hope to see you and all your buddies there

yea.. Mark said that engine had out lasted a few bodies.. I don't dought that Mark is capable building what he wants .. or the HP.. but I've learned enough about the VE's to know how much work it is to get the HP out of them... (I sure like my VP truck.. box, injectors, clutch.. 400+.. LOL.. as long was the VP hangs with me.. haha..)

I'll be driving a silver 4x4 sport.. 5 exhaust, gauges.. bah.. bah.. Not sure if I'll have the tractor in my photos along or not... currently has no engine.. but I've got an Ol Faithfull backup...
