This is just killing me, a month away thats just too long!!!!!!!!!!! I just keep on buying parts for my truck and I want to see what it will do on the rollers and the track. I don't know if I can wait til the 22nd. I'm ready to run the new truck down the track to see what it will do, I think I might get into the 14s maybe the high 13s if I'm lucky. I'll have to put a fresh coat of wax on it to get my #s down.
Do you think that if I run John or Johnner I might be able to do some drafting to lower my times?
My buddy Brett is going to bring his 03 Cobra down to run it on the dyno with us, it sounds like a cat in a pitbulls mouth

Hello
Cris
You will just have to wait, you can do it
If that is the case, a race between a certain white truck with training wheels might be a good race. I do plan on putting the truck on a diet before the big event.
I was thinking about washing all the bugs to produce a faster time, I didn't think of waxing it and make it slip through the wind as it blasts down track. THANKS
Jess
Glad to hear you and the crew may be able to attend, that would be great. The more the merrier.
Less than a month to go.
See Ya

Hey, just found this thread and am planning on attending. Not sure if it was mentioned yet (there is a lot of posts to read) but what about the cost to run on the strip? I saw the price for dynos. Thanks, hope to see yall there and meet some new folks, and maybe learn a thing or two.

Mrs Smurf here,
I believe the cost for the Drag Strip is $5 to watch and $10 to race from last weekend Test & Tune. We'll have to contact them and confirm the cost.

---HOTEL/MOTEL INFORMATION FOR OUR EVENT---
I finally have been able to get up to Jacksonville and get everyone some motel/hotel information. Several of you have called or P.M.'ed me about this so here is a short list of some of the nicer hotel/motels:
1.) Holiday Inn Express
2115 Highway 17 North
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 347-1900
Contact: Debbie Godwin (Tell Debbie you are with the DTR Group.)
Room Rate: $79.00
(Note: In past years this has kind of been our "event headquarters" as
I know Tim, Joel and a few others have stayed here. This year they
were not the cheapest of the ones I contacted.)
2.) Comfort Suites
130 Workshop Lane
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
Contact: Kristy Johnson (Tell Kristy you are with the DTR Group.)
Room Rate: $65.00
3.) Sleep Inn
129 Circuit Lane
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 478-0099
Room Rate: $69.95
4.) Microtel Inn
2411 Commerce Road
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 455-4625
Room Rate: $56.95
5.) Fairfield Inn (Newest Hotel of all Listed)
121 Circuit Lane
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 938-4499
Room Rate: $92.40
I recommend that any of the members wanting a hotel room for this event make reservations BEFORE April 10, 2006. All of these hotel/motels are within a few blocks of each other and all are right on or just off Highway 17, the main road going through Jacksonville.
If any of you have any questions about any of these please send me a P.M. and I will P.M. you back my phone number.

John, any ideas of campgrounds and contact info in the area. I may pull the toyhauler down and camp. Might try to see Mikey's truck (or should I say "Saturn 5") fits in the back.....

Matt:
Thanks for bringing up the campground! I was going to list that with the motels and forgot.
At our past rallies, we have used the one I have listed below. As I recall, I think Dennis (Rattlin Ram) stayed there. If you guys plan on staying there, I would call ahead for reservations.
Here is the information:
Cabin Creek Campground
3200 Highway 17
Jacsonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 346-4808
If your not able to get in here, let me know and I will list some more. This campground is about the closest to the dyno and dragstrip.
