who here knows anything about DOT regs. i think i may need dot numbers to pull my 35' trailer. i will be hauling crab pots. if they were mine then i could just put "not for hire" on my truck. but if there someone elses then im "hauling commercial" What do i need to be commercial, i guess that's what im asking? im going to be insured here shortly (eric). I know there are some state cops on here i just cant remember who.

Not this coming weekend, but probably the next or two weeks after that. I have to plan this around my schedule with my son. Check with Biggerkin too, he has a new trx450r and he goes riding all the time....

i havent been through that toll in over a year. i always get off on to 40 and take the "free" toll using my decal and then i get back on 896 in delaware, saves me over 40$ a month in tolls

talkin to my roomate, he says it goes by weight insead of size. do you have trailer brakes? i know your truck is fine as long as it is below 10,000lbs youre ok but im not sure about trailer weight. a commercial inland marine policy would give you coverage for the contents of what youre carrying. try and call ed, he might be able to help you with the DOT bs.

As far as I know if you are hauling for hire you need DOT numbers and proper insurance. I would check with Ernie, he will be able to let you know what you need and don't need. Also, check out this thread for some good info http://www.dieselbombers.com/towing-...u-pullers.html

i was over on cumminsforum, they are trying to get the maryland chapter off the ground... they elected a pres. and everything. i told them that dtr has their own chapter and we have our own little get togethers. scott the chapter pres for CF said give him a ring and maybe both chapters can get together?
i dunno, i mean i guess every forum has their own state chapters and such. but if its something similar- i.e. CTDs then why have 2 chapters, and 2 pres.? doesnt make sense to me.

^^^ BATTLE ROYALE!!!. MPG update i went 681 miles to 30 gals. 22 mpg that sucks. but i have a little taller tire than what is stock, by maybe an inch or two. could that add to more miles driven? cus if im only getting 22mpg im selling this truck it wont be worth having two trucks.
