Here ya go right from the Mythbusters site.
For the original myth they did a driving test and a water vortex test, both of which showed that you save more gas with the tailgate up. Their viewers suggested that they test three new conditions:
* Hardroof cover over pickup bed
* Mesh tailgate
* Remove the entire tailgate
They had a much simpler test setup this time. They had an electronic flowmeter hooked into fuel line of Jamie's pickup. Adam: "For anyone out there that wants to e-mail telling me that we screwed up this test, we have already calibrated this thing, to this car. So it's going to be perfect!" They drove the pickup truck up and down the stretch of 101 around Candlestick and the Cow Palace.
* Tailgate down: 5.2 gallons/hr @ 55mph. 1.2 gallons/hr @ 25.
* Tailgate up: 5.0 gallons/hr @ 55mph. No reading for 25mph given, but tailgate up was once again confirmed as more efficient.
* Hardcover over pickup bed: 5.0 gallons/hr @ 55mph. 1.2 gallons/hr @25mph
* Tailgate mesh: 5% more efficient
* Tailgate removed: about the same as tailgate up and hardcover
Mesh was most efficient by 5%
still busted

So could it be expected that a vented 5th wheel tail gate will have the same effect as a mesh net? They always advertise those as having fuel saving benefits.
I've been thinking about those airtabs for my trailer, to maybe help with stability. If you look through the site they have an 03 3500 dually with these airtabs on the hood, roof, down the sides and leading edge of the rear fender wells. Claims to see significant increases in his fuel mileage.
I also remember Capt. Caveman, very fondly in fact, he would appear with Scooby Do also.

i can see them on your trailer todd, but to put those things all over your truck to pick up 1mpg...rediculous, they make your truck ugly as can be.
also if everyone is so concerned with getting this great mileage...get a 4 banger daily driver that gets 30mpg and uses the cheaper $2.79/gallon 87 octane.
its a truck for gods sake, its not made to get 30mpg. im all about a little performance work to make it more efficient, but to ruin how the truck looks with some stick on plastic gimmicks for an extra 1mpg...no thanks.

performace only goes so far, a 700 hp brick wall isnt going to go ne where very quick, you stick to pulling and ill stick to doing what someone else says shouldnt be done.

We can not technically use Captain Caveman as our logo since it is a copyrighted drawing. Does anyone know any artists? The guy that I thought could draw is to busy to even try.

I know an artist. I live with her. It would depend on what your looking to do. I can get it scanned to digital format no problem. I even have access to T-shirt vendor account.

She does all here work in pencil art, color or black and white. Some are recreations, originals, and combinations to make something new.
Here are couple she has kept here:
Gallery page for a few others I just posted real quick:
