yeah 30+ is my goal, i was reading about the guy in one of the mags, that he used piece of conveyor belt bolt to his front bumper to limit wind drag under the truck. that would be great. my truck sits pretty high for a 2x4 with the tall tires on it. not high like a 4x4 but high enough that i could grap a few more mpgs by lowering it. i just need a way to lower it and keep my towing cap. "have my cake and eat it too"

I say we SLAM IT! How low can ya go? It's OK because it's a 2x4.

for the money spent to shed weight or make it more aerodynamic, the gains you may or may not see will hardly be worth it.

if you lower it to make it look better, or change the bumper cuz you like the looks of a sport better then its a cosmetic upgrade, but to do it for mileage, you would have to drive a whole crap load of miles (100k or more) to "make your money back" that you spent on it

well last year i put littlemore than 25,000 miles on my ford in 11 months, and that was with the low mpg in the back of my head, but getting 30 mpg or more i wouldnt hesitate driving somewhere cause of fuel cost. i dont plan on selling the truck anytime soon. also i plan on hauling more carnival rides/games, start hauling crabpots & straw/hay. the fibeglass fenders are out but the lowered sport bumper, possible glass hood and short stance are in. trying to keep all my mods less that $500 tho . sorry for the long post

hood will cost $500

sport bumper $600

suspension parts $300-1000 depending on what you get

i would recommend using the $500 to do the motor/hp work to make the truck run more efficient, you already have a 5spd with gear vendors, and its 2wd, you get it to about 375hp and the truck will pull 25-26mpg if you dont try to cruise at 80mph like i do!

I can see using them on a semi, but not sure about using them on your truck.
