I have a 47re. When i take off my truck sticks in first, to get it to shift i have to pretty much floor it and let off, but then it skips second and goes straight to third. If i have to take off fast i cant do it. Any thoughts??

 

Pressure sensor and pressure governor solenoid would be a rough guess. I think that typically affects the second to third shift though. Normal for 1-2 and 3-4.

 

It may be the speed sensor in the transmission/transfer case. When this happened on my 99 I swapped the speed sensor from my 96 into it and it shifted fine. Since you may not have two trucks with a 47RE, you might have to buy one and try it. They aren't expensive, and available at most parts places. Note: you have 2 speed sensors. The one in the rear axle runs the speedometer, and the one in the transmission has an effect on the shifting.
