Voltage Gauge Failure!

I hope someone can help me figure out what is wrong! I have a 200 Dodge 4x4 Quad Cab 5 spd Diesel. This problem just started today after I had the oil changed. After about 2 or 3 minutes of driving, the Check Gages light comes on in the instrument cluster and the Voltage Gauge goes from reading around 12 to 0. This happens every time after I start the engine and begin driving 2 to 3 minutes later. Anybody have any ideas? Do you think it may be the alternator? or the Voltage Gauge itself going bad? Thanks for any help and your time.

Rigg4x4

Re:Voltage Gauge Failure!

When changing the oil filter, they probably were using a metalic strap-type wrench that came in contact with the back of the alternator creating a fat spark?
If so, there's an alternator fuse (I think it's in the under-hood fuse panel) that's probably blown.
Been there.....Done that.......got lucky and didn't blow the fuse.
Now I have a vinyl cover on that pesky bolt.
