Unplugged Computer??? HELP!!
I just pulled back the glove compartment on my '92 D250. I noticed a black box up under the dash (r side) with a large wiring harness going to it. I looks like it might be the computer (?). The harness is unplugged.
Will it run without the computer plugged in? If so, what happens? Does my truck even have a computer?? ???
PLEASE HELP! This makes me a little nervous...
Thanks

That's the ABS brake control - someone unplugged it probably due to the rear ABS sensor failing you will probably also find the bulb for the ABS warning on the dash has been removed as well, since it SHOULD be lit with the box unplugged... The ABS brakes on my '91 stunk, so I disabled mine and "fooled" the controller into thinking it was still working - regular braking was LOTS better than that early ABS system...
