Truck won't start- electrical issue
Hi all,
I'm prepping my 07 diesel for sale, and pulled out a radio, phone booster, etc. Now the truck won't even click or attempt to turn over. A few details:
Prndl display not showing up, glow plug light not coming on
All accessories work fine, and all fuses look good
Cheap code reader reads Error instead of showing any codes
Batteries are in great shape
Aftermarket remote start thinks it's starting the vehicle, but same problem
I did NOT cut any wires under the dash (I've looked a long time).
Any ideas out there?

Have you disconnected the batteries and let it sit for a half hour? You could of cause a glitch to the ECM or security module and this would reboot everything. It may not fix it but would rule it out.

Check for power and ground at the ECM. There should also be a ignition signal to the ECM you may have lost that. The thing that makes me think that is, with no ignition signal to the ECM it will not power up to give you diagnostics.
What circuit was the radio tied into to pick up power?

Thanks for the help. I forgot to update the forum with my results. You nailed it Hinton. There was an over-the-fuse style tap that I had pulled. It spread the contacts so that the fuse powering the ecm wasn't connecting. I'm so glad it wasn't the ecm. Again, thanks for the help.
