truck won't start after pump seal!

Just got done taking the pump off my completely stock 89 diesel. Locked the pump, took it off, put on a block seal, the two green oring seals on each side of it and an o ring about the kill switch screw in deal. Put it back on, hand primed it and it wont start. I cracked an injector line and it is barely putting out any fuel, just a trickle. What's up with my pump!

What do you mean by "block seal"? Did you take the head off it?

It sounds like you pulled the head off too far and the drive coupling for the rotor came apart. Take a look in the 1st gen sticky for pump rebuild info...

I did take the head completely off and took the piston out.
what are you calling the drive coupling for the rotor? I made sure the piston notch was keyed correctly. But i think i may not have put the ball into the piston slip collar hole, i think the slip collar may be underneath the ball.
