Truck will not shift out of first gear
My brotherinlaw who lives in costa rica, has a 99 dodge cummins 4x4. He told me that lately when he is down to a 1/4 of a tank, his truck will not shift out of first gear. He also says once he fills up the problem goes away.

The diesel sensor in the left rear tire feels there is not enough weight on the left side of the truck due to the tank being over half empty.<br><br>This signal is then transfered to the APPS sensor. This will cause the APPS sensor to go bad.<br><br>I have an extra one for sale for $150.00<br><br>Just an educated guess. ???

I have a 99 CTD auto 4x4 quad cab, and it wouldnt shift out of 4th or OD when i got off the highway yesterday and stalled the truck when i had to stop, when i restarted it it was stuck in 1st gear, and still is! >
