I just sold my truck to a friend,(thats probable my first problem.) He told me that he was taking his friends out for a ride, and after he stomped on it for a couple hundred yards, he came to a red light and when he stopped the truck died, and will not restart He said that he is seeing a po500 code and a p1693 code. the fuel pressure is good I am told. Any ideas? Thanx guys

 

Out of fuel?

If not, the 1693 code might be pointing to a VP44 death code.

I think that code was on from my last IP.,that I changed out, about 6 months ago?

 

I don’t know if this is the problem but I have read that the VP44 can lose fuel with a quick letting off of the accelerator. The fix is to crack the injector lines and bleed air out. Good luck.

 

Good call Dave I just got in from buddy's house and thats how we got it going again, I had noticed before that if you were hard on the gas let off, and came to a stop it would start to run rough, but never die? When I cracked all the lines they were full of bubbles. What would cause this? I seemed to start once I installed my injectors?
