Angry transmission line quick connect leaking

I have the stock quick connect fittings (they are the metal clips, not plastic)on tranny hoses going to the cooler. One was leaking and I replaced it, but it still leaks at the fitting, just like the old one. I am able to slide the fitting back and forth maybe a 1/4" when it is on, both the original and the new one do this. Should they be loose like this? Does anyone have any ideas. I do n't have the money to get the dealer kit and replace all the lines. Thanks
