??? Just got back from the mountains pulling my 10,000 lb. 5er an wasn't sure if we would make it back or not. When i stop an go to pull out it will not down shift into 1st gear it won't come out of 2nd at stop so I was pulling out in 2nd, this trans don't have 1000 miles on it yet any ideas. I'm taking it back this week but i want to have an idea whats wrong so they don't try to B.S. me. ant help would be appreaciated as usuall. Thanks Bob

Phil, I am not sure about the details, but it sounds as if your truck has the "limp mode" problem. I think that the fix is a resistor in the signal line. Someone will chime in here, I am sure.<br>george

If its stock and you have a stock tranny you are in limp mode caused by many things, have to get it looked at and determine the problem driving in limp mode will surely screw the tranny.

Deezilla, sounds like the limp mode. Don't try to tow with it while in limp mode. Converter lockup doesn't happen in limp mode. There should be somes codes to indicate what is wrong. It may have a bad electronic governor in it. Electronics tend to go bad in the first 1000 miles most times. Since you have less than 1000 miles on it they shouldn't give you any flack. <br><br>Sorry you're having this problem. Electronics are great when they work right. ???
