I was pulling out of my parking space today and I noticed that when i put it into drive the truck jumped (like if I had the revs up on the motor and dropped it into drive). Thought it was weird but i continued on. I noticed when taking off it took alot more revs to get me going. After playing with it i realized that i was stuck in 2nd gear for starting out. I then noticed that it only shifted into 3rd and that the torque converter wasn't locking up either. It will go into 1st gear if i put the gear selector down into first but that's the only way. So what am i looking at here?

 

Ok so the truck only has 2nd and 3rd now. I have to manually shift it down to 2nd when i come up to a light.

 

you will probably get by with solinoid replacements

 

It was the 3-4 and TC lockup solenoids...well specifically the 3-4 solenoid. Got the setup with new wires and plug for $62 from dodge. It pays to have a friend at the dealership and a transmission tech at that.
