Trailer lights problem

Hey guys I'm a newb here. Just wondering if anyone can help me locate the
left and right turn relays ( for the trailer harness ) on my 2500 . I have located the fuses, they are both OK. When I take a voltage lamp to the left signal pin on the trailer harness, the lamp is lit solid without the left signal flasher on. I thought this might be a short to ground, but the right trailer pin works fine. This led me to believe that the left trailer turn relay may have the contacts stuck closed. Can anyone help me find this relay? It is not in the fuse/relay compartment under the hood.

Do the lights on the truck stay on solid as well? I am assuming this is when you try the left blinker? I do not believe there is a second relay for trailer blinkers( I will be corrected shortly if I am wrong). The flash relay is in with the fuses inside the cab, the factory relay is a blue square. I was unable to find the correct relay in any auto stores had to purchase direct from DC, NAPA has one listed but its not the right unit.

Just re-read your post ...the light stays on even without the blinker, my thought is a short in the blinker and the brake wire. Is this the factory trailer harness, it could be a crossed wire from installation if not?

Thanks guys!
Yes the light stays on without the blinker( flasher?) I'm Canadian,eh- maybe different terminology-but only on the trailer harness connector, not on the truck.

OK for another thing, this is a 2003 model 2500 turbo diesel. The fuse/relay box is under the hood.

Oh, and yes, this is the factory harness, and it worked great for 6 months.

I have had issues with my 2004. The trailer has seperate relays and fuses. My trailer lights quit working. The dealer replased the whole fuse block under warranty. Then it happened again out of warranty. I then just ran a wire from the fused side of the fuse to the back of the truck (a real pain) I tested the whole block and found where the bad connection was but it was not fixable and I was not going to spend $400+ to re replace the block

browsing around on another forum, someone said the 2 relays for the trailer turn signals on the 03 diesel is located @ left side of steering column. Is this a fact?

I'm thinking that the trailer lamp ciruits are provided by the IPM (integrated power module) under the hood. I have run into a few that have "quit". Sometimes if they are "reset" (using the scan tool), or flash updated (on some of the newer ones) they will work again. On the "I'm out of warranty and don't want to pay $400 to repair" side of it, I would simply cut the turn signal output wire leading out of the IPM and use relays and the voltage from the LF and RF turn signals on the truck to energize them.
