was driving and it felt like i had no throttle response for a brief sec. thought nothing of it until it happened a few more times.
couple days of not driving it happened again but this time engine light came on and had no throttle response until i shut her down and restarted. had codes 2121 and 2122. TPS and APPS sensor problem. limped her to mechanic and he took her for a 2 hr drive with scanner on it, and no problems at all. he erased codes and i drove the 5 hrs home with no problems.
what gives. mechanic says it would likley be apps sensor at a cost of 700 but suggested not doing it as he had no problems.
what can i check myself or what do you suggest as i need my truck to get an hr each wway to work. thanks

I was told about a month ago mine was bad also. I have not done anything yet, I was going to get the numbers off of it and go to NAPA to see if they could cross reference it.

 

Try this APPS reset procedure. I did it and haven't had a problem in 80K mi.

If I am having no problems other than mileage that I think is too low, 14.5 around town, is there any harm in doing an APPS reset? This is the 2001 in my signature. It has about 115k on it now, and I have had it for about 30k of that and since I have had it, the APPS reset has never been done. Retired guy who made no mods had it before I did and I doubt he ever did anything like that either.

Any thoughts?

truck kept on having lees throttle response and i kept on having to shut truck off to get any response. i changed out $714 part and 2 days i am good to go. no problems.

except...

now truck shifts all fd up. from 2nd to 3rd to goes in no gear for a few secs. did this befor when i matted her, but does this now when drive her normal.
tranny has been done like 3 times. still have warranty but want to know what to do.
shift kit? gotta have reliable truck but dosent seem like dodge...
any suggestions thanks
