tested the lift pump

i tested the lift pump with the volume test earlier, and it failed. i recieved right at 1 liter of fuel in the container. i put it all back together and cranked it and drove to town (30 miles) to get a new LP. however as i was driving i didn notice the sluggishness or cough that i had noticed in the first place (the symptoms that urged me to do the test in the beginning.) after not finding the LP in town i drove home, still running absolutely great. how long do i have till im stuck on the road? should i replace ASAP? should i run it till it quits? im confused. lol whats new? lol. wish i could get my hands on a fuel pressure guage........

any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated
thanks,
peanut

well since only 30% of the pumps flow is needed to run the engine and the other 70% is for vp44 cooling I'd replace it asap

cause she may be running fine but you're taking a big chance at buring up your vp44
