I have a problem with my truck. After coming home from the snow, my check engine light came on. It ran great except that first gear seemed not to work correctly. After reading some others with transmision problems it sounded like I was in "limp mode". I disconnected the battery and after 30-45 minutes I hooked them back up and it ran great. This is also my first week with my EZ. Now, I was getting to move my truck I noticed my check engine light was on AGAIN.

I'm heading to Yosemite this week and need help. Would anyone have an OBD II scanner to check the codes? If by any chance I have to take my truck to the dealer I want to make sure that they are not BSing me.

Thanks
Dwight

I am not too for from you, I am in El Cajon. However I don't have an OBD-II scanner. You can however read the codes with your key. Cycle the ignition between LOCK and ON 3 times with the cycle ending in ON. Your odometer should show you any codes that is stored in its memory. Hope this helps.

Thanks......you're just in the next town. Santee here. It's too cold right now but I'll give it try in the morning. Will the code number show or will it flash a certain amount of times?

Santee is just next door. On the code thing I am not sure since I have yet to do it on my rig. I picked it up here on the message boards and have read that it works.

It is getting chilly isn't it? My temp readout in the overhead console read 39* this morning.

Does antone think that my problem might be with the EZ? I was planning on disconnecting it also to see what happens

I would wait until you get the codes first before disconnecting the EZ. Your problem could be unrelated to the EZ.

El Cajon here. Granite hills area.

The code will flash a code. No counting or anything. It is a series of numbers and letters. The link to what the codes mean is here somewhere. I will find it again.

I believe I have seen you around town JRS.
