Replaced Starter contacts, now lift pump not working?

I replaced the starter contacts in my truck this afternoon. Also did the oil and the fuel filter while I was under the hood. Everything went together OK, or so I thought. Now it turns over great, but I have no fuel pressure. When I first cranked it, it caught before I could let the fuel filter get all of the air out. Then it died. Now I can turn it over fine, but the buzz from the lift pump is not there when I bump the engine. Before today I was getting about 11-13 psi on the LP.

The LP was replaced about 30K ago, and has been steady ever since. When the first LP went out, it ran erractically for weeks and never really just went dead.

Any thoughts as to what and how to check? I have a spare LP somewhere, but I really don't relish another afternoon with the hood up. Could I have somehow knocked a wire loose to the LP?

More than likely you bumped the electrical plug (on the LP) loose when you were trying to fit the starter back in. Reach down and make sure it is not loose.

Thanks for the idea ds1rider,

I am settling on miracles as the answer because this morning, all was right. Turned the key, got a buzz from the LP. About 3 cycles of bleeding air from the filter canister, and a 10 second crank, and it runs fine. Same pressure as before the new filter.

Whew! I really hated replacing the LP a couple of years ago.

I would still check that plug. Sounds like it is not tight and making a good contact. May come loose at an inppertune time.
