Removing Oil Filter (Clockwise or Counter?)
So I've got all the oil drained and can NOT get the **** oil filter loose
I Just want to clarify the direction it needs to go to come LOOSE. So if you are looking down on the filter which way does it need to spin clockwise or counter clockwise?
Thanks TIA

Just a plain ole guy
Make sure you rub a light film of oil on the seal of the new filter. That's what seems to stick and a reason i do all my own oil changes. it seems like sometimes the oil change places keep a gorilla in the closet just for tightening filters and drain plugs.

It will swell when it's saturated. A light film just rubbed on with a finger tip will keep it from sticking.

The Fleetgaurd installation instructions direct you to do this. In fact every filter I've ever seen seem to have a little set of installation instructions that say to do this.

never in my life of a thousand oil changes have i ever seen a swelled filter gasket. all of them that were way too tight were actually smashed down evidence of being over-tightened.
