removed valve body.... park rod came out HELP

I was removing the valve body to replace selenoids, and I removed the clip on the park rod, but I guess when I was trying to get it down, the rod got hooked and came out of the rear of the tranny....out of Park? How do I get it back in?????

Please help.. my cell # is 210 857-6845

thanks....

It can be done, but is a real PITA. The best thing to do , IMHO, is to take the clip off the park rod, put the park rod back in the transmission, then fight to get the clip back on the rod after putting the valve body back in. Again, you can put it all back together the way it came out, but not fun. It takes some patience.

does the park rod just sit in the rear of the tranny? or is it held in place by something in there? when It came out, the truck rolled backwards.

If the valve body is out, you can barely see back to the back of the tranny. The park rod basically just goes into the large "cog wheel" at the back of the tranny. The spring and ball is what allows the clicking if you put the truck into park to quickly ( while you are still moving!). The "cog wheel" has large square cut cogs on it that the rod catches on to keep the truck from moving. What solenoids are you replaceing anyway? The gov. pressure solenoid and transducer don't have to have the entire valve body out to replace. I have cheater on the 3-4 and OD solenoid as well and re-used the original wiring too! All of which keeps you from removing the valve body! I know....... a little too late now!

Jack up the rear end and have someone slowly turn a wheel while you push the rod back in.
Things need to line up!!

Well I replaced the 3-4, OD selenoid, and still had the OD circuit voltage low code, so I replaced the whole harness.

got everything back in place and I still have the code? what next??????

Could my OD button be bad?

Ok, got the truck working again.... I'm a bonehead.... I pulled the pan and sat there looking at the VB.... well, the plug for the 3-4 selenoid was not snapped in place all the way.... snapped it in and now all is well... EXCEPT.....

I though I was going to have to take it to the dealer, so I removed the DTT shift enhancer, and my TC switch.... what a pain in the butt to have to run all the wires and splice them all over again........ahhhhh

Since I was having a problem with the tranny, they would probably say that my TC switch or DTT shift enhanser caused it.
