Rear rotor removal on an 02???
Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear rotors on my 02? I have the caliper and caliper bracket off, but the rotor is not budging. The fronts were much easier.
If you can, please help, truck is in pieces as I type and I have a ride waiting to take me to get the rotors turned
Thanks,
~Rob

Well, I did a search and bishgeo had the same problem I do, here is his response from a few years ago:
Apparently I am not drinking enough beer.
Will go try his method right now.

if i remember correctly, your axle and rotor are one piece ?? you have to open the rear end and remove the clips. '01+ trucks have both drum and disc brakes in the rear

The rotors came off after I had a buddy rotate the tire on the opposite side while I beat on the back of the rotor with a rubber mallet. Took 'em to get surfaced but the shop said they were below the minimum thickness. Went to Napa and bought 2 new ones and put 'em on. While I was under there, I think I found the clunking I was hearing too, the spare tire was loose.

My first choice would have been to order them from Tirerack.com and get Brembos. But, as it was, my truck was already apart (I thought I just needed to get them resurfaced) and I wanted to put some on today while it was torn apart. A few months ago, I put the Brembos on the front from Tirerack.com. They were $66.00 apiece. Shipped to my front door for about $140 bucks total. That is the way to go.
