Synthetic will still burn. Just takes a little more temp to ignite it.

I've run used synth oil in locomotives before, no issues.

Synthetic is not really synthetic anymore it is just highly refined oil.(unless its redline or amsoil or other racing oil) there was a lawsuit some time back about this and guess who won?EXXON MOBIL. They are allowed to call it synthetic because it's ''highly refined'' go figure

I haven't tryed it in a cummins, but I run up to 80% used oil in my 96 power stroke with no problems other than a little gray hazze out of the tail pipe. running all stoke truck with a super chips programmer on extreme setting. the oil must burn cooller than fuel cause I can run the chip loaded on oil but if I haul a load with the chip up on straight #2 I burn out the injector seals.

UMMM,
The hat I got from Cummins says

"CUMMINS OIL ENGINE made by Cummins Engine co. Columbus, Ind. USA"

And YES Cummins says it ok to run 20% WMO.
