Plugging Egt Probe Port

I sold my 00' last night and bought an 03'. So today I'm pulling my gauges off my old truck. I'm concerned with plugging the port in the exhaust manifold. If I stick a standard pipe plug in won't it melt??? Any ideas?

Thanks

A standard plug will be fine and it will not melt.
