I decided to scan the computer for codes even though there was no CEL. It showed p0500 (NO VSS SIGNAL) Can anybody tell me what this means?? SHould I be worried??

 

no worry, engine speed does not match vehicle speed.....a manually induced high idle will set the code, in other words if you rev the engine while stopped you just set the code,but it will go away after x number of starts....i don't remember if it's 10 or 15

 

Thanks Johnh. This could be, because i was ideling while talking to a friend, and i increased the engine speed to about 1200 for a min. or so due to the cold weather without the truck moving........
