O/D switch not working as well as backup lights
Good evening, I'm working on my truck and can not figure this one out. All of the plugs are tight into the tranny, bulbs good at rear, no fuses blown. I'm at a loss any idea's?
Oh yes, I'm new here so hope this is correct form! Thanks in advance!

I would but I just purchased it 2 weeks ago, I took it back to the dealer they said it was my baby, as is sale. I can't find anything that looks like it's been messed with.

You don't say what tranny you have. Check to see if power is getting down to the reverse light switch. If yes, look hard at the switch. On an auto it is combined with the neutral safety switch. The neutral safety part can work just fine even though the backup lights do not.
What is wrong with the OD switch? You can't lock out OD?

It could be a number of things. I'd start by looking for a bad switch, then at the wiring, but you may want to get some really tranny advice before going any deeper. There may be a reason inside the tranny that could cause this also. Worst case I can think of would be a PCM problem.

Backup lights work now, I replaced the switch on the tranny. The OD button started working to. I went on a trip in NB this weekend, the road was a 1 lane twisty 35mph mess through the sandhills. I just started to push repeatedly on the OD button, then the light came on. I had to push several more times for the light to go out, I kept working the button, and now it works everytime you push it. I guess it just hadn't been used since it was new!
