New owner needs info on starter elec

I recently bought 92 4x4 LE w 5 spd. Right front damage.
replaced ecm, straigtened frame, replaced inner and outer fender. It sat for almost 2 year. Motor started w bypass jump of solenoid. runs good. Starter will not respond to key. clicking sound from fender wall electric components. bought chilton manual no help. Any help available here not much knowledge of cummins dodge. (i had fords).

Sounds like your solenoid is dead. Good thing is they are usually cheap and easy to replace.

Also, on your positive battery cable, close to the battery end, there is a two-pin connector which is used to energize the starter solenoid when the key is in the start position. Make sure it didn't get bumped during the body repair. If you don't see the connector I mean, just follow the small wire from the starter, up towards the other end.

If you can jumper the solenoid and it starts - then I would pretty much think its the solenoid.
