Thanks johnh....I already have the info related to the code......
The truck is driveable, but the TOW/HAUL and trans temp lights will come on, it then downshifts to 3rd and remains in 3rd, and driving 1580 miles in 3rd gear back to KY ain't gonna cut it. From the research I've done, the transmission governor pressure transducer houses a thermistor which is generally the culprit.....requires dropping the pan and valve body. Apparently he's in an area that is not close to a major city or dealer.
Trans fluid color & condition are good; does not appear burnt, and is at the prescribed level.
Keep the help coming....we appreciate it.

Yeah Green River is pretty much the middle of nowhere. As far as a decent shop you might find one about 60 miles north on HWY 6 in Price, Utah. There is at least a Dodge dealer there. Otherwise you have Moab about 50 miles southeast there is a dealer there cant remember if there is a dodge dealer though. And last but not least you have Grand Junction approx 100 very empty miles east in the right direction where there are definitely dealers and other shops though I cant recommend any there as I have not used any. Grand Junction is probably the best bet, but wouldnt hesitate to go to Price either it just isnt exactly on his way home.
