Need Help!! Belt Shredded!!!

cumminsboy: The AC compressor clutch assembly is available through Sanden over here- but it's 300€ + tax- this will buy you 2 remanufactured compressors in the states.
Maybe it's worth looking into getting it in the states though.

For what it's worth I lost a belt when a small rock flew up and stuck between oil pan and dampener pulley. Not real obvious with first look and a 1 in-a-million chance. Hope the compressor fixes yours though.

Mine was more exotic. The alternator pulley went funny and pulled things out of alignment. This put way to much pressure on the AC and the clutch bearing failed. The belt broke half way up a mountain in a remote part of coastal California with a fifth wheel on behind and the temp already rising. I got lucky when I pulled out the old belt I carried and for the only time ever, changed it in ten minutes on the side of the mountain and made it all the way back to Edmonton before making the changes. Even had a pull over appear just past where the belt blew. Unfortunately it beat up the tensioner real bad and I had to get a new one. $250 from Dodge or $115 from Cummins. I am amazed at the amount of abuse that system absorbed. I do think it is a great idea to get a non-ac belt for emergencies. I have been recycling old mopar AC stuff and using HC in em. They can quit anytime. I just noticed that Toyota is using HC now.
One more thing. More than once I tried to put the belt over a little thingy down on the right hand side of the vibration damper. It can do a lot of damage.
