Map Sensor unplug, Now it wont Start!

Hi Guys<br><br>My 2001 ( Rampuller mentioned this in last post) 24 Has a problem. I lost the oil pressure so I started trying to find the sensor.( I have since found it)<br><br>Now The map sensor got unpluged and I started the truck. It would start but the check engine was on ( wait to start light works okay) but I have no gauage function and the engine goes to high idle mode. I depress the throttle and the engine speed drops and the truck appears to miss. The truck will not rev up ( tach not working so I have no idle speed)<br> I plug the map sensor in and the check engine light goes off but when I Try to start it just turns over and over. ( the wait to start light flashes when the key is on)<br><br>One other thing is that none of the gauges work at any time and the oil pressure is way to high when the truck is running <br>I think I need to reset the computer. How can I do this? Is it just stuck in limp mode? <br><br>2001 ctd 24 valve 5 spd<br><br>Thanks

Sounds like their could be multiple error codes in the computer. Do you have anyone available to you that has a code scanner? I would recommend starting that way.

Re:Map Sensor unplug, Now it wont Start!

im going to be no help but i would try disconnecting the batteries for a couple hours too, also, turn the ignition to ON after disconnected to drain all power from the capicators, leave in ON mode the whole time batteries are disconnected..MAKE SURE you turn ignition to OFF before re-connecting batteries though...please post back on the remedy
