LSD diff additives w/syn oil
Hi, did a search and can't find an answer to my question. I'm changing fluids in my '97 long box 4x4 quad cab axles, and the rear is a LSD D70. It'll get Amsoil 75w110, and need to know if it also needs an LSD additive even though it's getting synthetics??? This truck will also spend the winter in -30Celsius northern Alberta.
Thanks for the help!
Cheers

Amsoil says you "shouldn't", but you'll notice that they actually make a LSD additive. You now have to ask yourself, if their lubricant doesn't need a friction modifier, why would they make and sell one?
In my case, I have a tight Powr-lok in my 99 and have added 3 bottles. I added only one, I think, in my 96. Probably need one more in each because they are still tight.
