Low FP, Changed Filter & FP 1st OK, then Low Again
I noticed unusually persistent low fuel pressure yesterday morning...later had fuel filter changed & fp immediately went back to its normal (~12) for a few trips out & then went back to low* fp by last night...any ideas?
Or anyone know a good indy Diesel shop in El Paso, Tx (or Las Cruces?) who could troubleshoot it Monday and/or install a FASS or do Geno's new (?) relocation kit + a new stock "out-of-tank" pump...?
*low in this case being 2-4 @ idle, 0 at speed...

Check your fuel, it could be a bad case of contaminants in what you last purchased. Or some nasty person added them for you.
Did you check for kinks, blockage or leaks in your fuel lines?
Is your gauge working properly?
It could be your LP is shot.
I wouldn't run the engine at all...that is unless you plan to replace the IP.

How could I check the gauge?
I'll have to plead ignorance on checking for fuel blockage & contaminants, too.
I filled the tank earlier in an attempt to dilute anything bad...took a hard turn on the next trip out & it went back to 12--maybe it'll stay there.
As long as I have SOME pressure at idle, I'm gonna gamble on the IP until tomorrow when I can hopefully get it into a shop, though I'm thinking maybe I'll grab a rent car here pretty quick before the holiday crowds mob them...

I just started it up again...it went directly to 12 & stayed there...just in case the fillup followed by the hard turn REALLY did make a difference, what's the easiest way to stir up the fuel that's in a tank?--or can TOO much stirring be a BAD thing?

It doesn't matter how you stir the fuel. If you've got crap in the tank, it will eventually wind up in the pick-up/pump/filter/fuel line.
Take a chance w/ the IP???? I hope you have deep pockets$$$$.
Check the gauge w/ a direct read non-electric gauge.
Checking lines requires disconnecting ends and blowing out w/ clean compressed air. Just make sure you don't get anything into the lines while disconnecting & reconnecting.
Check for contaminants by disconnecting fuel line at convenient point between pump and filter, bumping the starter to start pump and pump fuel into a clean clear container. This only checks for large particles. You could take the fuel to a place that analyzes oil.
