Low Boost, High EGTs

Coming home with 12,000 pound trailer in tow. A loud whoosh of releasing air. Immediately got higher EGTs and boost fell to a maximum of about 10. Nothing else happened. No smoke of any color. No codes whn I checked at home. No warning lights. It sounded and acted like when I broke a diaphragm in the wastegate actuator about a year ago. Actuator replaced then, and I just replaced that one today, with absolutely no change in the problem. I think it's important to say that this time though, the truck does not run as poorly. I could still get up the hills on the way home, although by gearing down and at a reduced speed of about 30-35 because of high EGTs. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Start by checking your hose connections from the turbo to innercooler and back to the intake for any leakage. Normally a hi idle will create enough pressure to check for leaks there. If all looks fine, pull the int hose off turbo (eng shut down) and turn impeller to check for freedom of spinning and look for oil trails. While in this area check exh brake to make sure it is fully open and check the operation of the switches etc. If all checks good, go to the wast gate. Another area to check is the cat if it is still on. Also check the hose/tube from int to afc, Good luck

GaryGus;
I'd check innercooler boots, blew one loose or split one out is what sounds like to me. Let us know what you find.

Biggest problem area is on the passenger side, with the boot that connects the intercooler to the turbo piping. That boot rubs on the fender, and A/C line and is easily torn by those two objects.

Thanks for the help. The lower boot on the right front side had slipped out from under the clamp. No tear or other damage or wear on the boot, so I slipped it back undeer the clamp and retightened it. Solved the problem with about ten minutes' work. Once again the TDR guys come to the rescue!

When you get a chance to do a little maintenece, pull all the hoses. clean both sufaces (Inside hose/Outside of pipe) with alcohol or acetone, then get some cheap hairspray, hit both surfaces, reassemble while wet, tighten clamps, let dry.
Should take care of any future trouble.
