leak around fuel heater/filter

I just changed my fuel filter. The stud that the filter attaches to came out with it dropping the heater. I put everything back together and now have a major fuel leak. Took apart and reassembled to same results. I tightened the stud back through heater first with a screwdriver to snug. Any thoughts?
