Junk Yard guys played with my truck
I picked up my truck from the auto wrecking place yesterday. I got it towed because my registration went bad, long story.....
when i got into the cab, i noticed there was dirty hand prints all over it Normally when i start it up, it takes a few tries to turn it over, along with the gas peddle a quarter down. i figured since it had been sitting for 5 days, it would take some patience to start it. turns out, only 2 tries and no gas at all. Kinda weird to me. I only drove it back to my school until today when i has to do some errands.
My turbo was spooling way to high for my liking- about 40 psi is the highest i let it go, but im pretty sure it would have went higher. Also, my gas peddle is much harder, meaning the return spring was stiffer. Now the throttle sticks at around 1200 rpm and i have to jump on the gas a few times to make it settle down at stop lights etc... or else it will keep driving...
I checked out under the hood and everything seems to still be there, but i noticed some white smoke coming from the valve cover/ injector area. its kinda hard to see it, but thats my best guess as to where its coming from.
Any idea as to what occured? Do I have any recourse against these guys? It isnt really is big deal, but the turbo psi is a little nerve wrecking. I checked my throttle cable and it is loose by about 1/4 inch. I bought this truck a few weeks ago so i am not to familiar with it. Another thought that came to mind is that the weather has warmed up quite a bit, so that could be a contributing factor.
Sorry for the long post but any help is appreciated.

Something does not make sense. To previous need to press the throttle a quarter to start the rig would tell me you have been running with slipped pump timing, or a really badly clogged fuel filter, and there is no way it would ever get near 40 psi of manifold pressure with that symptom. You have a bad pressure gauge at a minimum.
No junk yard is going to time a P pump, that is way too much work, and that is what it would take to get it to start like is now does.
I would begin by checking my engine number against the VIN, a Dodge dealer can help you make the match, and make sure you got what you think you did from the junker. Maybe pop the top off the pump and see if you have the GSK and plate you started with.
If things do not add up, call the police and go file a complaint. It could be that someone at the junk yard is driving a 12 valve with a transplant courtesy of you.
