I am stumped & Dead in the water
This is a continuation from another forum - hoping I can get some more help here. Basically my truck died last Saturday - would crank but no fire. no fuel. I tried reading codes to no avail (Link Error). I assumed that the LP was out at a minimum... Here is were I am at:
Got the new FASS kit installed - went on great in about 2 hours, wonderful kit. Turned the key and she still won't fire. Same as before. I know I installed the system correctly - triple checked everything.
When I turn on the ignition, this is what happens:
1) A/C Clutch and relay turns on and off about once per second. (visually verified this).
2) ASD relay clicks on and off at the same time, in sync. These relays are next to each other.
3) A "bump" is heard... not sure what this is Truck has always done this. Normal I assume.
4) FASS (like the old LP) does not turn on.
5) Dash lights/engine light/etc. come on like normal. Chimes/etc. work like normal.
6) Trip computer half works. Mileage/trip reads "ccd" but temp & direction works.
7) I've checked just about every electrical connection and wire harness in the engine bay - everything is tight & clean.
Any other tips for trouble shooting???

Fixed !!!
Turns out I was fighting 2 problems. The LP had indeed gone bad - but the real problem was an electrical short in the harness (rubbing against the back of the engine). It kept blowing the #1 power fuse for the PCM so it wouldn't run. I fixed the harness, put in a new fuse, bumped the start for the FASS to pump up the system (twice), flicked the key and success!
Was finally able to read codes after I fixed the wiring problems (ccd went away too). I got the dreaded P0216 error. I went ahead and cleared the codes and will drive it tomorrow and re-check the codes.
Thanks for the suggestions!

More than likely your VP-44 it on it's way out. If it was okay the truck would have still run.
