high idle after resetting apps
i recently had torque converter lock up problems. it would lock up the unlock repeatedly around 45 to 50 mph. several of the replies to this thread were performed including resetting the voltage on the apps. after the voltage was reset the engine idled at 16oo rpm. i backed the idle screw down to bring the idle down, and naturaly the voltage dropped. i test drove the truck with an idle speed of 1000 rpm. shortly after i got rolling the throttle had no response. does this mean the apps is shot? or am i missing something???

You need to check the signal wire with an ohm meter. It should slowly and steadily change resistance as the accelerator is depressed. If it is erratic, then your APPS is shot and all you can do is buy a new one. About the only other resort is to spray it with electrical contact/motor cleaner. If it is dirty inside.
You must have recalibrated it. Did you not have the correct resistance(ohms) when you first checked it?

Mine did the exact same thing when I did my voltage adjustment.
I thought I had really screwed something up at first! Idled very high, like 1500 or something, I took it for a little drive to see what was going to happen then it cut to regular idle, through the CEL light. I limped it back home, shut it off, cleared the code with my OBDII scanner. Started it back up and ran perfect ever since, no more deal pedal, no more CEL. Worked like a dream.
