HELP 4 Wheel drive and cruise control out
The 4X4 on my truck is not working. The cruise control went out about the same time. I checked the vacumm line and it has suction. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
It would help us all if you posted the details on your truck. Also let us know if you have the manual or electronic 4wd selection.

Sounds like a Vacume leak. The vacume pump is on the drivers side front on the engine, it down about half way on the block. There is a main line that comes out of the back of the pump, it runs straight back to the firewall and then T's off, a line goes to the cruise, one goes inside to work the HVAC, and on goes down to the transfer case, this is the one that drives the vac motor to engage or dis-ingage the front axle (CAD).
Since you have lost 4WD and cruise, the line should be easy to find, sounds like it is between the firewall and the pump. Check it out and since your truck is a little old, think about maybe replaceing the rubber vac lines.
Also if you have a Vac guage, it would be a snap to locate the problem. They are cheap arround 15-20 bucks. A good vac pump should hold 20-25 inmg,at idile.

Is the front axle not engaging or is just the light not coming on?
If it's engaging it could just be a bad switch or it's wiring.
Doesn't explain the cruise though. What are it's symptoms, does the light come on?

When you say you checked all the lines, where did you check them? They should be checked at the far extreme of there run. For the front axle that would be at the CAD. for the cruise that would be at the cruise controler.

That explains the 4wd but what about the the cruise?
You don't need a code reader for a 12 valve, just follow the instructions here- http://dodgeram.org/tech/gas/Trouble/pcm_fault_code.htm
Some the codes in the list are for gassers and don't apply.
