really, the pump cant get into the oi? hmmmm. lets think about this. doesnt the fit into the rear of the gear train housing and is run off the cam gear? so, if the shaft seal goes, where does the fuel go? into the gear train. how is that gear train lubed? engine oil...........
a connector tube is the tubes that goes through the drivers side of the head, and connect to the injector to send fuel from the rail to the injector.
if they scoped everything, then where is the gallon of #2 coming from?

If you are making oil then you have a problem, My guess is it is injector related, but as Dodgezilla said poump seal also could be the issue. My 04.5 lost 2, at seperate times, injectors and it rapicly filled the crankcase rather than a little at a time. Whatever the cause find it and get it fixed, Diesel is not a good lube for bearings and such.

hey dodgezilla
I said your advise was prices less!
because, dodge said the motor is not broke in yet at 64000 miles and it from towing all the time
the cummins people said the pump could not leak in to the oil.
I own them, drive them, i don't build them.
ounce again thanks for your advise
I will refer your advise to the dealer and cummins!
thanks GINO!!!!!!

scoping an injector nozzle and inspecting and injector nozzel can tell you two different things. You can check is to see its mechanical workings with a scope, but you cant see if the copper sealing washers are allowing fuel to bypass from a poor transfer tube connection or if youv'e got a bad injector o-ring. To solve this, I would pull the head and start inspecting injector o-rings and washer seals. These fuel systems are pretty simple when it comes to diagnosing, there really arent that many connections. If it isnt leaking on the outside of the engine, it is most likely leaking on the inside.
