engine sounds like it runs on 1 cylinder

Well after 2 push rods got bent, installed new ones and redid the valves. I figured nothing else would have happened in the motor. Well it turns out, that one the starter struggles to turn the motor over. 2 when the motor tries to fire and does it runs, and sounds like its only on one cylinder. All the valve train is moving. What am i looking at? Maybe i did the valves completely wrong? Any help would be greatly appretiated.

When you say you redid the valves, what exactly do you mean?

When you adjusted the lash, you did rotate the crank to bring the piston to TDC on the cylinder you were working on, correct?

yes, what i dont get is why it is so hard for the motor to turn over, the batteries are charged. Broken Cam? Broken Crake? Piston?

If your lash is incorrectly set you may not be opening the valves and therefore the engine is effectively acting like it has a Jake brake installed. If you didn't remove the injectors, is there a chance you lost prime in the fuel system. If this is not an option try readjusting the valves making sure you follow the procedure exactly. Hopefully you haven't bent any of them.

ok thanks for the input, i will reset lash tomorrow morning and hope for the best. Does the possibility exist that a piston or crank is busted?

It's a possibility but most likely it's on the top. Hopefully everything is just too lose.

That we are unsure of, originally started with head studs, installed them did some heat cycles, then retorqued them and we pulled the valve train off. Went to restart and it was popping the noise when the air comes back through the intake. Took out the two bent rods installed new ones, and reset lash and now it doesnt run worth a .02
