Driveshaft confusion. Did I get the right one

The dealer ran my vin and said this is the right driveshaft.

On my original, it has a vibration dampner on the front slip yoke that goes in the trani. The new shaft does not have this. I called a differant dealer and they came up with the same thing. Both dealer's say the # has been superceeded.

I looked the part # up on moparparts.com, and this new number say's it's for a 06. Mine is a 04.

I hate to put it in and there be a problem. I'm sure once I install it,,,it's mine. The old # is 52853070AB. The new # is 52123138AB. Anyone dealt with this before. Thank's.

I ordered one from Dodge OEM parts about six months ago and it has the damper on it.I have 04 305/555 and the old one that came off had the damper too and it was a upgrade (much heavier) according to the mechanic that put it on.
I am not sure if it changed on the 04 1/2.

It sure does. Aint that purdy. The carrier bearing is new and improved too.

I didn't get a good angle on this pic, but you can tell the new one is beefier.

are you sure your not supposed to take the old one off and reuse it? looks like a place machined for it in the pics.

I asked the same thing. They told me that would defeat the hole purpose of a complete new "BALANCED" shaft. And they said use it like it come's in the box. And, the shaft is not available with the dampner.

That's kinda why I'm posting to find out what's what about all this.

It was cheaper than I thought,,,and that's the only reason I bought the whole thing. My part's guy give's me a little bit of a discount. That made it just under $300.
