Did the Apps reset and still hunting
I reset my Apps as the truck was hunting around 45-50 mph to find overdrive or it would grab it then kick right down. This worked for about 30 miles then it is right back to the same stuff. At the time I did the apps reset I cleaned battery posts and connections, cleaned external speed sensor on the rear end and tranny, also swapped the tranny relay with the horn relay in the fuse box as they are the same size. What is the next thing I should do? Replace the Apps? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think the problem that you are having is not hunting in and out of OD, but probably your TC is locking and unlocking. The problem is electrical noise in the ECM lines. Call Bill Kondolay at DTT. For about $35.00 you can get a TPS noise filter. Takes care of the problem. I installed mine last fall and haven't had a problem since. The part is also avialable from Radio Shack, but I have no idea what the model number is. What you need is a capacitor that is non-electrolytic, such as a mylar film capacitor, with any voltage rating that exceeds 25 volts, with a value of .68 to 1.0 uF. This info. from DTT. Hope that this helps.

MoreSmoke: Yes, the install is very easy. The filter comes with good directions. It took me about 15 or 20 minutes, and I an neither a mechanic nor electrician. It's just a matter of finding the right wires and attaching one end of the filter to one wire, and the other end to another wire. I wish I could be more specific, but I didn't keep the directions.

Also, Chrysler has a bulletin on this, involving reprogramming the ECM to make it less sensitive to electrical noise. I believe that noise in the alternator field circuit can aggravate this condition. I have performed this bulletin on several trucks and it works well.

My truck has 43,000 miles on it and has never acted like this. EEP poked the heck out of it when I did the bulk of my performance mods. This all started after the 3" lift a few weeks ago. I have done all my ground cleaning, apps reset and now to install the noise filter hopefully tomm. It looks like a nice day 18* for a high...
