Well J,

This last lift pump may not have been bad. When I took the truck down to the first dealer, they told me the fan clutch code was showing up in the diagnostic test they ran. At that point I decided to yank the truck from them, but......it would not start so their "expert" reevaluated it and said the lift pump had a short in it? Wonder why it didn't flag the computer during the diagnostics? Anyway they replaced it and it still wouldn't run so now it's at another dealer. As far as the fan clutch, I didn't even mess with it. I'm still waiting to hear from the second dealer. Maybe he can confirm whether the fan clutch is bad or not. I am also hoping that he will check out the "shorted out lift pump" that I had the 1st dealer put in the bed of the truck after they replaced it. Got any suggestions on my possible recourse if the 2nd dealer says the lift pump is good and not shorted out? If it's good, I wasted 575.00.

As far as the possibility of a chip or aftermarket performance enhancer goes, I don't think so. I'll give the prev. owner a call tomorrow to check. 5/15 George

Check if you have to pay to transfer the warranty. If they say yes it's probably $150.00 bucks then after you sign the papers, hand them the keys.

dealer did the same thing to me!!!

Yes I know this scenario very well. The dealer in Prince George did the same thing to me. On The steering wheel oscillating between 10 and 2 oclock which wore out allllllll the steering componants in the first 30,000 km's that cost me over $5000.00 and the gutless engine I am still tring to fix.

Complaint: Low power.
Found : Nothing wrong at this time unable to verify customers concern at this time, Meets accerleration tests.

Please Pay Cashier: $600.00 ++++++
Thanks You If you aren't completely satisfied please let us know.

This would be a small bill and then on the way home I would be passed by some truck and camper on a hill. Wondering why the engine would rev and scream but no power from it. They say it is fine!!!!!

The lift pump was dead for some 6 or 8 months but this still didnt fix the problem.

If u suspect it is a fuel problem get the mechanic to pull the fuel line off of the out port on the lift pump if no fuel that will narrow it down quite a bit otherwise bleed the injectors if u can get it running or cranking over half decently this is a common problem on cummins industrial B series engines if they sit for a while it happens all the time at work. Bleeding and cranking works all the time. Also i would install a FASS fuel pump in it when u get it running the Cummins mechanic i spoke on friday said i would not run without one i think there around 600 bucks but very well worth it. Good Luck

Hey George, you need to check on something real quick ... I think when I was talking to the dealer recently he made a comment that the warranty gets transferred if done within 30 days of purchase. I think he said there was a $125 fee to make the warranty transfer.

Check it out pronto and might save you big bucks since from a time/mileage standpoint the engine should still be under warranty.
