Cruise quit
I just installed a toggle switch to lock up my torq conv and now my cruise quit workin. The cruise light will not turn on at all. I checked for a blown fuse, didn't find any that said cruise controll on it. Any ideas?

I've found whenever a person works on their rig and something doesn't work afterwards that they are the cause, accidental or not.
Check the fuses, underhood also and retrace all your steps. Make sure you are on the right PCM pin with your lockup switch, you could have followed the instructions for an early 12 valve.

YEP! used an ohm meter on ALL fuses. I'm going to to start with all the places I recently worked at, then if no luck, look under the DS battery tray, ect. Anyone know which wire at the ECM? I'll check that too if I find which 1 it is. Thanks to all.

Well,
After I checked about everything a person could think of, I gave up for the time bein.
Later, I took my son and g-son to the Monster truck show. I tought I'd just turn on the cruise and set it fer the hec of it. IT WORKS! WOW, no cruise light on dash.
Thank gawd! Thanks to all who helped.

Guess what? Mine quit too! It comes on for about 1 minute then the light goes out and it won't come back on until after I turn the key off/on. Checked the switch pad in the steering wheel, seems OK. Don't know what to do. Ken

Common cruise problems I've run into
1) corroded actuator, wires or vacuum hose under the driver's side battery.
2) Wires or connectors pulled apart under the steering column cover. On some trucks the wire bundle is too short and tilting the steering wheel can cause them to pull apart.
3) Brake light switch, this is a triple pole switch, only one set is used for the brake lights, the other two sets by the cruise. Most often with this problem cruise disengages when you hit a bump. New switch from Napa is $11
4) switch pad, sometimes there will be a bad connection that doesn't show up with an ohm meter causing the pcm to receive a dirty signal. Dealer only $32.
5) female connectors anywhere in the system that are stretched out and fit loose caused by taking the connector apart many times or by sticking a voltmeter probe in them.
Most other cruise problems come with something else like no tach, speedo, horn or airbag light.
