Codes P0201 and P2146
I work as a Firefighter in Chesapeake, VA and we are away from home 24hrs at a time. Today I get a call from a freaked out wife, she is driving my 06 Dodge and it is shaking and not running right! Talk about some mixed emotions, I didn't know whether to be angry at her for something she may have done or scared that she was left stranded with a 25K paperweight!
At any rate she restarted the truck and it ran fine back to our home, but the CEL stayed on. I had her go out to the truck and do the old key trick and came up with a P0201 and P2146. Through my research here it turns out I could have anything from a bad injector to a bad valve cover gasket? Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. The truck is 100% stock with the exception of an AFE air filter and exhaust system, no tuner or other upgrades.
I was leaning/hoping towards a loose connection, how else could it have been shuddering and shaking one minute then after a restart run fine? I'm just hoping I don't have to pop for a new injector! Also is there any relation to them occurring at the same time?

Change the valve cover gastket, I have a few trucks per week coming into shop with this problem. Very bad design since the wire is not crimped very well in the plastic connector that is part of the gastket. This is covered under your Cummins engine 100K or 5 year warranty. Should take under one hour to replace gastket. The new gastket has been redesigned. Take the wifey out to dinner and buy her some flowers it's not her fault.

Just an update, the CEL went out as I was pulling on to the dealer lot! Service tech tried to scan ECM and it didn't come up, luckily I had them written down and showed them to him. His quote was he has never seen those codes come up without the valve cover gasket being the culprit. So it confirmed what Big Iron70 said, thank you for the help. The gasket was ordered and will be replaced later this week.
