changing rear shoes for the 1st time
ok i bought the bigger chev wheel cylinders...i have them on there already...im trying to put things back together and im a lil stuck...which way is the "primary" shoe supposed to face? the primary is the one with more material correct? so does the material face the rear? or the front? also i noticed that the drivers and passsengers is not exactly symetrical...the parking brake line comes into the cylinder from the front on one side and from the back on the other...can someone give me a good couple of rules to orient myself by?

I know this won't help you now but maybe it will help another reader. Since I don't change brake shoes every day I only take one side apart at a time. That leaves an example that I can go look at when I start scratching my head.
Sorry can't help you with the specifics on the parking brake with your truck year. However, I've never seen any other car have the parking brake come in from the back. I wonder if someone put on the wrong backing plate?
